Diabetes WAlk - 2009

On Saturday November 28, 2009 the members of the Lions Club of Castries together with the Diabetic and Hypertensive Association got busy with registration for the annual Diabetes Walk as well as conducting blood pressure and diabetes screening.
 
 Over one hundred participants were registered.  Although we run out of T-Shirts many  persons showed their  support and registered.











The proceeds from the registration was presented to  Mr George Eugene Executive Director of the Diabetic and Hypertensive Association.











On Sunday November 29 Hundreds turned out for the Annual Diabetes Fun Walk.

The water stops were  manned by Lions,  Super J representatives and a Team from the
National Volunteer programme













After the last pack of walkers had passed the  last water stop the team  of Lions and volunteers - ever environmentally conscious - walked the route collecting bottles

The Lions Club of Castries expresses its thanks and appreciation to the Saint Lucia Diabetic and Hpertensive Assocaitoin  and Super J for  partnering in the Walk against Diabetes and the many corporate sponsors. Our thanks also go to the many Saint Lucians who took the time to walk and to those who contributed to the event. Again Lions Sharon and her Team a job well done. - CONGRATULATIONS. -
