PEACE POSTER GRAND PRIZE WINNER - 2009-10

Lions International Peace Poster Contect 
Each year Lions Clubs around the world  sponsor the Peace Poster Contest which consists of an original theme incorporating peace. Participants use a variety of mediums, including charcoal, crayon, pencil; and paint to express the theme.  The works created are unique and  express the young artists' life experiences and culture.  The theme for 2009-10  is "The Power of Peace"

This year thirteen year old Taiwanese Yu-Min  Chen is the grand winner of the Lions Intetrnational Peace Poster Contest 2009-10.  She will be recognized for her accomplishment at Lions Day with the United Nations in Vienna, Austria on Friday March 26, 2010.    About 350,000 children ages 11, 12 and 13 from seventy (70) countries around the world participated in this contest.   Her poster was chosen for its originality, artistic merit and portrayal of this year's theme

Chen said :  "My colourful drawing shows that children hope to live in a peaceful world."
"If there is peace and unity in this world, life will be more beautiful, quiet, peaceful and full of love and affection "
