Sid L. Scruggs III, of Vass, North Carolina, USA, was elected p[resident of the International Association of Lions Clubs at the Association's 93rd International Convention, held in Sydney Australia, June 28 - July 02, 2010.
President Scruggs is an experienced and effective leader with particular strength in leadership training, the mentoring of future leaders and membership development. Using as his presidential theme "A BEACON OF HOPE".
President Scruggs has this to say about Lions “The difference for me with Lions is that it’s hands-on. I can go back and recount the stories of the difference we made in people’s lives,” says Scruggs. Lions are “Beacons of Hope,” he says. For the next year Scruggs will bring his message of hope to Lions worldwide. “I think people see things as they are,” he says. “Lions are different. We see things as they can be.” Scruggs will make service to others the core Principle of Lions Clubs around the world.
