LEOS CELEBRATE TWENTY EIGHTH ANNIVERSARY

LEO CLUB OF CASTRIES CELEBRATE  THE TWENTY-EIGHTH CHARTER ANNIVERSARY – APRIL 07, 2012

The Lions Club of Castries join with our District Governor, Lion Lloyd Barker, Region Chairman, Lion Gloria Thomas and Zone Chairman Lion Lyndell Gustave in congratulating the members of the Leo Club of Castries as they celebrated their twenty-eighth  (28) anniversary of their charter as a club on April 07, 2012.

The Objective of the Leo movement is -To provide the youth of the world with an opportunity for development and contribution, individually and collectively, as responsible members of the local, national and international community.

The Motto is:
Leadership – Develop skills as a project organizer, time manager and team leader.
Experience – Learn how teamwork, cooperation and collaboration can bring exciting changes to your community and the world.
Opportunity – Make friends and feel the rewards of community service.

The Leo Club Program has remained steadfast over the past twenty-eight years. Community service remains the cornerstone of the program. Like their Lion counterparts, Leo club members enjoy serving their neighbors and watching positive results unfold.

Some of the activities undertaken in observance of their milestone included attending service at the St Benedict Parish Morne Fortune followed by a social activity with members of the Lions Club of Castries, their parent club and prospective members; a donation of a food hamper  to the Corner Stone Home for the elderly.

Leo clubs provide young persons with an opportunity to enrich lives in many ways including:
·    Collecting food and clothes for local street children and needy families
·    Repairing playgrounds, cleaning environments and beaches
·    Implementing after-school tutoring programs and sponsoring needy educational opportunities for needy children
·    Visiting children in hospitals
·    Raising funds for youth, educational and community projects
Through projects like these, Leo clubs bring hope and laughter to needy children, especially in impoverish communities.

Leos are continuously challenged to serve their communities while developing leadership skills and establishing long-life friendships.
