On Saturday May 24, 214 the Lions of Castries continued their service to the community when they embarked on two community project. The first step was a donation of personal hygiene items to the residents of the St Lucy's Home for the elderly. The Sister in charge of the home who received the items indicated that they were a welcome addition to their stock. The items were donated at an opportune time for the residents as one resident had to be hospitalized and the items were handy.
Following this, the Lions proceed to the community of Dennery to visit the St Joseph's Home for the elderly. In addition to a donation of personal hygiene items, ttoiletries and cleaning materials were also given. The highlight of this visit was the Tea Party which the Lions hosted for the residents. The residents were ever grateful for the treat and spent time not only reflecting on their lives but on everyday issues. The singing and music was so enjoyable that one resident had to reminisce on her dancing prowess with one Lion. The Management Team was grateful not only for the treat but for the visit as it was noted that some of the residents did not have any visits by family or friends. As usual the Lions were grateful that we could have made a day in the life of the residents different.
