CASTRIES LIONS OBSERVE CREOLE MONTH

 CASTRIES LIONS CREOLE NIGHT
 
In observance of Creole Heritage month, the members of the Lions Club of Castries hosted a creole evening. The Den was decorated in madras and coconut palms. The tables were decked in madras with bamboo centerpieces. Local dishes including saltfish, smoked herring, bakes, local bread, stewed pork were served. Local juices - golden apple, lime squash, sorrel, goosberry, the desert included rock cakes, cut cake, tamarind balls, fudge. The highlight of the evening was the local dances which were demonstrated by the group le danciers de traditionnelle. Members were taught the dance steps for a number of local dances. Thanks to the members of the Social and Convention Committee for a wonderful evening. Thanks to Lion Lesley Ann and her team for the decorations. Thanks Lions, Leos and Guest for a fun filled evening -
