ROCKING THE GREEN

Castries Lions and Leos join the world in observing World Environment Day- 2015

World Environment Day is a yearly event held to raise global awareness of the need to take positive environmental action. Known as WED for short, it is run by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and is really a climax of environmental activities being undertaken all year round by UNEP and other organizations and individuals around the world.
This year’s theme for WED – Seven Billion Dreams, One Planet, Consume with Care – therefore expresses the challenge of creating opportunities for inclusive and sustainable economic development, while attempting to stabilize the rate of resource use and reduce environmental impacts.
Our Rocking the Green campaign encouraged Lions and Leos to raise awareness by wearing green and inviting friends, family and co-workers to do the same. We want to express our thanks to the Staff of Inland Revenue Department for their full participation, the Micoud Secondary School and all Lions and Leos who ROCKED the GREEN.
