 LION RHON STEPHENS - REGION CHAIRMAN  - REGION 3, SUB DISTRICT 60B

Zone 3B is proud to have serving as our Region Chairman Lion Rhon Stephens whose span of authority span the islands of St Lucia, St. Vincent and Barbados.  Lion Rhon Stephens joined the movement as a Leo in the early nineties as a member of the Leo  Club of Vieux  Fort.  He transitioned into a Lion and is a member of the Lions Club of Vieux Fort. During his  tenure he has served in a number of club and  District   capacities.   Lion Rhon is committed to service with excellence and has implored clubs to be mindful of the club administration and record keeping.   Zone 3B is proud to have him serve as our Region Chairman for this lions fiscal year.

Leo Onya Laurent  joined the movement in  2009 after being acquainted with the movement from a tender age following her Mom to all lions activities.  Leo Onya is a self-motivated individual who is committed to whatever she undertakes.   Her commitment to service is reflected in her association in the Saint Lucia Cadet Corp where she serves in the rank of Sergeant.  Her astute leadership qualities is what has taken her to the helm of the organization in such a short membership term.  The board of Directors include:

PRESIDENT  LIONS CLUB OF CASTRIES - LANA LA FORCE

This lionistic year Lion Lana La Force has been elected to serve as President of the Lions Club of Castries  Lion Lana joined the movement as a member of the Leo club and graduated to becoming a full fledged Lion.  She has served in various capacities in the movement including, Secretary, Director, and now President.  Lion Lana believes that Lions should recommit themselves to their oath of service and has chosen the theme

In her Inaugural messages she expressed the view that "In order to acheive anything tin this world a person has to use the resources heor she can drawn on. And the only plac to start is whith ourselves and within ourselve.s
The questions we need to ask ourselves are:

              Why  am I here
               Why am I a Lion
               What can we do better?

The answer is that we have done a lot, we have helped others and I still believe we can still do more.  ThaT is why the word "Service" differentiates Lions from any other  ........   Fellow Lions as we recommit ourselves to our objectives, let us all go ahead  first to reach within ourselves, and then move on confidently, and firmy towards the target we have set ourselves.  Discovering ourselves, developing the strengths within us and then going forth and encircling the world to embrace humanity.   And that my fellow Lions is going to be our theme for the coming year  
                 'REACH WITHIN TO EMBRACE SERVICE."

MEET THE ZONE CHAIRMAN - ZONE 3B

 LION BEATRICE MAC DONALD - ZONE CHAIRPERSON, ZONE 3B

 This year Lion Beatrice Mac Donald has been elected to lead the five lions clubs and one Leo club in Zone 3B.  Lion Beatrice joined the movement in 1988 as a member of the Lioness Club of Castries.   When the movement allowed for women to become full fledged Lions she transferred to the Castries Central Lions club which was later merged with the Lions Club of Castries.

Lion "Be" as she is affectionately called has served in several capacities including, Leo Advisor, Secretary, Public Relations Officer, Director, Membership Director and President. 

Her passion for service is shown in her commitment to succeed at whatever is undertaken by her.  She shares that passion in her quest to serve the less fortunate especially in the areas of Sight conservation, Diabetes and HIV/AIDS.  She is also very enthusiastic about Youth development and has committed herself to the improvement of the Leo Club of Castries. 

Lion "Be" embraces the District Governor's theme "We Still Believe" and sees it as complimentary to the International President's theme "In a World of Service".  She believes that this year Lions and Leos are challenged to believe in their call to service.   She hopes that as a Zone we will be able to make a contribution to the "One shot,One life" Lions Measles Initiative.  She also hopes that the Lions and Leos in Zone 3B will take up the International President's challenge to initiate a  Reading Programme in each of the communities they serve.

MEET THE INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT - 2012-2013

International President 2012-2013

 Wayne A. Madden

Wayne Madden, of Auburn, Indiana, USA, was elected president of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 95th International Convention, held in Busan, Korea June 22-26, 2012.

President Madden is an insurance agent and a certified insurance counselor.
A member of the Auburn Lions Club since 1984, President Madden has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chairperson, region chairperson, state council chairperson and district governor. In addition, he is a past president of the Indiana Lions Foundation. He served as a District Governor-elect Seminar faculty member five times and as Campaign SightFirst II sector coordinator for Multiple District 25.

In recognition of his service to the association, President Madden has received many awards, including the 100% Club President Award, Life Membership in the Association, the Senior Master Key Award, four Extension Awards, an International President’s Leadership Medal, nine International President’s Medals and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor the association bestows upon its members. He is a Charter W.P. Woods Fellow, a Kentucky Colonel, a Duke of Paducah, a Helen Keller Fellow and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

In 2008, he was recognized for his humanitarian service by the governor of Indiana as a Sagamore of the Wabash, the highest honor the governor can bestow.

In addition to his Lion activities, President Madden has been active in numerous professional and community organizations.

President Madden and his wife, Linda, also a Lion and Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, have two daughters and five grandchildren.

MEET THE DISTRICT GOVERNOR - SUB-DISTRICT 60B

 DISTRICT GOVERNOR 60B - LION CLAUDIUS BUNCAMPER, MJF

Lion Claudius was born in St. Maarten on May 3rd 1963. He  joined the St. Maarten Lions Club in May, 1993 after serving as a Leo in the St. Maarten Leo club and holding the position of president for 2 years. During his tenure as a lion, Claudius has achieved and contributed as follows:

• President 1997-98 and 2001-2002. 
• Secretary no less than 3 times. The only position not held is that of Treasurer. 
• Served as a Board Member for 14 consecutive years 
• He has a 17 years perfect attendance. 
• In 1990 he reactivated the Leo Club of St. Maarten with the assistance of Lions Wally and Maxime and served as its president for the years 1990-1991 and 1991-1992. Upon entering the Lions movement in 1993 he decided to stick to his Leo roots and became their advisor for the next 2 years. • Served on District Level as Zone Chairman, Region Chairman, Convention Chairman, District Leo Chairman, Environmental and Disaster Chairman, Activities Chairman, 2nd VDG, 1st VDG and many other associate district positions

Lion Claudius has attended many Zone, Region, Cabinet Meetings as well as Mid Year Conferences, District and International Conventions. His valuable contributions to the Community were recognized by the Club in awarding him in 1997 the Melvin Jones Fellowship.

For his commitment and untiring service to the Government of the Netherlands Antilles and community of St. Maarten particularly, Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands bestowed on him the decoration of “Member in the Order of Orange Nassau” in April 2005.

Our District Governor has challenged Lions and Leos of Sub District 60B to strengthen their belief in Lionism and his motto for the year 2012-13 is ' WE STILL BELIEVE'
