Castries Lions install New Board of Directors


On June 25, 2011 the members of the Lions Clubs of Castries, Gros Islet and the Leo Club of Castries held a joint ceremony to install the members to serve on the various Boards for the fiscal year 2011/2012.

The outgoing President Lion Linda Joseph shared her thoughts on what was a successful year for the club. She encouraged members to recommit themselves to the goals of the club, and pledged her continued support. One theme that was common in the speeches of the incoming Presidents was that of membership growth. The President of the Leo club expressed the need for greater collaboration between the lions and the Leos and pledged to work on building this. The Incoming President of the Lions club of Gros Islet challenged lions and leos to each bring in one member this year to ensure not only growth but continuity of the organization. 

The President of the Castries declared her theme for this lion fiscal year as "Committed to Service with Excellence".  Her goals outlined for the year include
1    To continue working on the successful programme that the club has implemented. 
2    Concentration on Youth and the elderly the two most vulnerable groups in our society
3   Revitalize membersjip and to attract new quality members
4   To promote comaradere among club members
5   Focus on the Leo club and building a stronger bond
6   Re-introduce club visitation

She urged members to recommit themselves to the Code of ethics of the organization and to remain focussed on District Governor theme which is Raising the Levels of Service
